A SWIMMING SUCCESS FOR CHESTER-LE-STREET SQUADRON
Last weekend saw 13 cadets from 1507 attended Durham Northumberland Wing’s inter-Squadron Swimming Competition at Gosforth Swimming Pool with Squadrons from across the North East. The cadets did extremely well bringing back 16 gold medals, 1 bronze medal and 2 trophies! Special mention goes to; - Cadet Blake Ozbek-Hooper who won 3 gold medals in backstroke, butterfly and as part of the junior boys relay team. - Cadet Jessica Tong who also won 3 gold medals in backstroke, butterfly and individual medley. - Cadet Jacob Davison who 3 gold medals in breaststroke, individual medley and also as part of the junior boys relay team. - Sergeant Nathan Wise who won 2 gold medals in freestyle and as part of the junior boys relay team. Also Flight Sergeant James Wise, Sergeant Sean Heightley, Sergeant Sean Henry, Cadet Nathan Ross and Cadet Michael Green all achieved gold for their respective relays! The junior boys relay team also broke the previous Wing Record by at least 10 seconds which was previously held by the senior boys relay team! Because of the efforts on the day 1507 picked up 3rd place overall for Senior Boys, 2nd place overall for Junior Girls, 1st place overall for Junior Boys but most importantly.... 1507 won the overall competition coming 1st and returning home with the trophy they won last year! Well done everyone! Regional Commandant North - Air Cadets Royal Air Force Air Cadets Durham Northumberland Wing Air Cadets
